Themed Meal
The Fall Harvest Themed Meal Project was implemented at South Elementary School in Scranton, one of 17 schools managed by Aramark under its Student Nutrition Program. The goal was to create an engaging dining experience that celebrated the fall season while promoting healthy eating habits. The menu featured Honey Stung Popcorn Chicken, Cornbread Poppers, Steamed Green Beans, Applesauce, and Milk—foods associated with fall flavors yet aligned with National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines. Despite a limited budget, the project was successfully executed for 250 students, with advance planning and coordination among staff. Promotional flyers were shared to encourage participation, resulting in full meal consumption and zero leftovers. Both students and staff responded enthusiastically, appreciating the creativity and seasonal theme. The project demonstrated effective teamwork, menu innovation, and the importance of student engagement in reducing food waste and enhancing meal satisfaction
