Module 2: Ethics & Professional Development

The purpose of this module was to learn how to remain aligned with the current Standards of Practice and the professional Code of Ethics. This module complemented my Alternative Practice Experiences by helping me better understand the proper procedures and expectations for ethical practice. As part of this, I developed a log of professional goals to guide my growth during the community rotation. To further demonstrate my commitment to professionalism, I am a student member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
During my time at The Wright Center, I applied these principles by practicing professional conduct in alignment with the Academy’s Code of Ethics. I worked directly with patients from diverse backgrounds, providing nutrition counseling and assessment while ensuring patient confidentiality and respect at all times. I also made sure to follow The Wright Center’s policies and procedures, which reinforced the importance of ethical practice and professional responsibility in patient care.
Personal Development Plan
Before beginning my Community Nutrition Internship Rotation, I developed a Personal Development Plan (PDP) to guide my learning. I selected goals that aligned with professional competencies and outlined clear performance indicators to measure my progress. During the rotation, I maintained a detailed activity log to document how my daily experiences contributed to achieving these goals.
The attached PDF includes the completed activity log, which outlines the activities I engaged in, and mt personal development plan.

Ethical Cases Studies

I completed ethical case studies during orientation and for alternate practice experiences.
